Crew time calculator.
Work out what separate deliveries and late deliveries cost your crew in time, from your own wage, crew and times.
It is a model of your own figures, not a quote or a measured BuildQuick result. No wage, fee or other figure is suggested: every input starts empty, unless a sample case study’s link has loaded that case’s sample figures, and the example values are round and fictional.
What it works out.
- Receiving time
- Separate deliveries or one combined delivery: the worker-hours your crew spends receiving them, the modelled time value of those hours, the delivery fees and the net difference.
- Late deliveries
- Deliveries that arrive after their agreed window: the crew-hours lost waiting, their modelled time value, and any extra trips to a supplier or equipment left waiting, over a month.
Time value does not automatically reduce payroll: released hours count only if your crew can use them productively.
How each figure is calculated.
Receiving time
- Modelled hourly cost: the hourly wage plus the employer costs, entered as a percentage of the wage.
- Worker-hours spent receiving: arrivals × receiving minutes for each arrival × people who stop work, converted to hours.
- Modelled time value: worker-hours × the modelled hourly cost.
- Worker-hours lost: the separate deliveries’ worker-hours minus the combined delivery’s.
- Full fee difference: the separate deliveries’ fees minus the combined delivery’s fees and other charges.
- Net additional cost of separate deliveries: their fees and time value minus the combined delivery’s fees, other charges and time value. A negative figure means the combined delivery costs more.
- Break-even fee: the combined delivery’s fee at which both cost the same.
- Amounts are rounded half-up to the cent only when shown; every total and difference is calculated from unrounded values.
Late deliveries
- Modelled hourly cost: the hourly wage plus the employer costs, entered as a percentage of the wage.
- Crew-hours lost per late delivery: people waiting × hours lost.
- Modelled time value: crew-hours × the modelled hourly cost.
- Each extra trip: its hours × the modelled hourly cost, plus its distance × the vehicle cost per kilometre.
- Modelled cost a month: late deliveries a month × (the time value per late delivery + the equipment waiting cost), plus extra trips a month × the cost of each trip.
- Amounts are rounded half-up to the cent only when shown; every total and difference is calculated from unrounded values.
Uses your inputs. Simplified rules for illustration, not BuildQuick’s dispatch logic. Nothing you enter is stored or sent; you don’t need to enter names, phone numbers or addresses.

Your crew’s cost
What you pay one worker for an hour, before employer costs. Enter your own figure: none is suggested.
Payroll taxes, benefits and other costs, as a percentage of the wage. Leave it empty to use the wage alone.
Separate deliveries
One combined delivery
Usually one. If timing would force a second arrival, enter it: every figure is recalculated.
The fee you would be quoted. The example values use the same fees as the separate deliveries.
Enter your figures, or try the example values, to see the result.
Assumptions and sources
This tool uses only the figures you enter.
Late-delivery log
Keep one line for each delivery that arrives after its agreed window. Over a few months it gives you your own figures for late deliveries a month and the hours they cost.
Each line records:
- Date
- Supplier
- Agreed window
- Arrived
- People waiting
- Crew-hours lost
- Notes
| Date | Supplier | Agreed window | Arrived | People waiting | Crew-hours lost | Notes |
