Planned Metro Vancouver pilot

Help shape the service before commercial launch.

BuildQuick is preparing a pilot to test the delivery workflow with building suppliers, contractors, and carrier partners. The target period is July-December 2027, subject to product, partner, and operational readiness.

Enquiries are not open yet — here is what you can do now.

PILOT / TARGET PERIODMETRO VANCOUVER
2027JUL—DEC
JASOND

Product readiness.
Partner readiness.
Operating readiness.

Planned timing, subject to readiness.

Who the pilot is intended for.

Suppliers

Branches with construction-material deliveries, a defined loading process, and an interest in testing coordinated transport.

Contractors

Teams that can describe their receiving conditions and help assess whether delivery coordination fits real site needs.

Carriers

Operators able to discuss appropriate vehicles, handling capability, service areas, and the requirements for safe participation.

What we plan to learn.

The pilot will test whether deliveries arrive within agreed windows, how much coordination each job needs, what delivery costs look like, how exceptions are handled, and whether branches want to continue on commercial terms. The plan targets 470 pilot deliveries; this is a planned sample, not completed activity.

The intended participation process.

1. Initial review

We review the information to understand your business and delivery needs.

2. Fit discussion

If there is a potential fit, we discuss geography, materials, timing, and operating requirements.

3. Agreed participation

Any participation, responsibilities, charges, and information use are confirmed separately before deliveries begin. When enquiries open, an enquiry will not reserve a place or create a delivery contract.

Pilot enquiries

When enquiries open, tell us enough to start a useful conversation. Do not include private customer details, delivery documents, payment information, or urgent requests.

Is the pilot running now?

No. The current business plan targets July-December 2027, and the schedule depends on readiness.

Will expressing interest guarantee a place?

No. When enquiries open, an expression of interest will start a suitability review. The operating area, material types, capacity, and pilot objectives will guide selection.

When is commercial launch planned?

The target is January 2028, subject to readiness and pilot results.

Enquiries are not open yet.

BuildQuick is preparing the pilot and its enquiry process. Explore the planned approach and use the guidance below to prepare for a future conversation.

Prepare your pilot brief.

Choose your role and note, for each topic, what you would bring to a discussion about the pilot. Copy or print the brief and keep it for when enquiries open.

The brief is not an enquiry and is not sent to BuildQuick.

How the brief is checked

  • Choose your role first: the topics are the ones this website lists for that role.
  • A topic is prepared when its note is filled in.
  • An empty note, a value in square brackets or a filler such as “TBD” counts as not filled in.

Uses your inputs. Simplified rules for illustration, not BuildQuick’s dispatch logic. Nothing you enter is stored or sent; you don’t need to enter names, phone numbers or addresses.

Assumptions and sources

This brief uses only the role you choose and the notes you type.

What we will ask when enquiries open

When enquiries open, the planned enquiry form will ask for the following.

  • Your name
  • Work email
  • Company or organization
  • Your role: Supplier, Contractor, Carrier or Other
  • Municipality or operating area
  • Material categories (suppliers, optional): Lumber, Sheet goods, Hardware / fixings, Bagged materials or Other
  • Deliveries per week (suppliers, optional): as a range
  • Message: Describe your enquiry without including private customer details, payment information, or sensitive documents.

Collection is disabled. Nothing on this page sends your details to BuildQuick or saves them.

Before collection opens, please read the Privacy notice. When enquiries open, expressing interest will not confirm a place in the pilot.

See all questions and answers

A pilot should answer operational questions.

Service reliability

Were deliveries completed inside their agreed receiving windows? Review the period, conditions and exceptions alongside any reported result.

Coordination effort

How much branch, dispatch and driver effort did each job require? Understand whether the process is useful at a busy counter and on a working site.

Delivery economics

Observe the actual delivery work and costs. Pilot activity is a test of the operating model, not evidence of an established commercial margin.

Participant fit

Learn which material categories, receiving conditions and supplier-carrier relationships support a repeatable service. Any commercial continuation will be agreed separately.
